Product Description
UniFi G6 Instant is the latest camera in the UniFi Protect Generation 6 lineup, delivering 4K Ultra HD video without the need for wired Ethernet. With built-in Wi-Fi and simplified setup, it can be deployed within minutes – simply power it via USB-C and pair it with the UniFi Protect app. Its small form factor and wireless operation make it an ideal choice for locations where cabling is difficult or impractical. Despite its compact size, the camera is built to last (Ingress Protection: IPX5, Impact Resistance: IK04), suitable for both indoor use and sheltered outdoor installations. The included Mounting Options wall bracket allows quick and clean mounting to walls or ceilings.
The device uses a 1/1.8” 8 MP image sensor that captures detailed 4K (3840×2160) footage at 30 FPS. Its wide diagonal field of view (134°) makes it well-suited for covering offices, hallways, or lobbies. Night vision is supported up to 6 meters using IR LEDs and an integrated IR-cut filter. It also supports HDR for enhanced imaging in high-contrast scenes. Audio is recorded via a built-in unidirectional microphone, and two-way communication is enabled through an integrated speaker.
Advanced AI capabilities support face recognition, license plate reading, and object classification (people, vehicles, animals). All analysis is performed locally thanks to Edge AI integrated with UniFi Protect (UniFi OS). Users can fine-tune notifications and search recordings based on specific event types.
The G6 Instant connects via 802.11ac Wi-Fi and is configured using Bluetooth BLE. It can also be powered via PoE using an optional USB-C adapter (sold separately). In case of connectivity loss, recordings can be saved locally on a microSD card (not included). The system requires no licenses – all features are available without additional fees.
