The Cisco 10GBASE-LR SFP+ Transceiver Module, Model SFP-10G-LR, is an enterprise-class, hot-swappable input/output device engineered to provide high-speed, reliable 10-Gigabit Ethernet connectivity across single-mode fiber (SMF) optical infrastructures. Operating at a nominal wavelength of 1310 nm, this module is capable of transmitting data over distances up to 10 kilometers on standard Single-Mode Fiber (G.652), making it the industry standard for high-capacity inter-switch links, enterprise data center interconnects, and campus core distribution backbones.
Equipped with Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) support, the SFP-10G-LR provides real-time diagnostic monitoring of critical transceiver parameters—including optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage—enabling proactive network management. Designed for maximum compatibility and seamless operation, it features a standard dual LC/PC connector interface and complies fully with IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR standards, SFP+ Multi-Source Agreement (MSA), and Cisco quality controls.
Key Features & Advanced Capabilities:
High-Speed 10G Ethernet Connectivity: Delivers robust 10 Gbps data throughput optimized for high-performance enterprise networks and data center architectures.
1310 nm Long-Range Optics: Utilizes high-reliability Fabry-Perot or DFB laser optics operating at 1310 nm to achieve transmission spans up to 10 km over standard single-mode fiber.
Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM): Integrated diagnostic capabilities provide live operational telemetry for real-time tracking of optical power levels, voltage, and internal temperatures.
Hot-Swappable Architecture: Allows seamless installation, removal, or replacement in live Cisco switches, routers, and modular slots without causing network downtime.
Low Power Consumption & High Efficiency: Engineered for energy-efficient operation with minimal thermal dissipation, fitting standard high-density switch configurations.
Industry Standards Compliance: Fully compliant with SFP+ MSA, SFF-8431, and IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR specifications.
